Kolkata Knight Riders made a strong comeback in Match 6 of IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens as Blessing Muzarabani delivered a crucial double-wicket over, removing Ishan Kishan first and then Abhishek Sharma to dent Sunrisers Hyderabad’s momentum.
SRH were cruising at one stage with both Kishan and Abhishek looking in complete control. Ishan Kishan, in particular, was batting with intent, finding boundaries at will and putting pressure on the KKR bowlers. Abhishek Sharma complemented him perfectly, rotating strike and capitalising on loose deliveries. The partnership was beginning to look dangerous and hinted at a massive total on a good batting surface.
However, the game turned dramatically in just one over.
Muzarabani first provided the breakthrough by dismissing Ishan Kishan. The left-hander, who seemed set for a big score, was undone by a clever change of pace. Attempting to keep up the attacking momentum, Kishan mistimed his shot and ended up losing his wicket at a crucial juncture. His dismissal brought immediate relief to KKR, who were desperately searching for a breakthrough.
Before SRH could recover, Muzarabani struck again in the very same over. Abhishek Sharma, who was also looking dangerous, fell soon after while trying to accelerate the scoring. The pressure created by Kishan’s wicket perhaps forced Abhishek into playing a risky shot, which ultimately led to his dismissal.
The double blow completely shifted the momentum of the game. From being in a commanding position, SRH suddenly found themselves under pressure with two new batters at the crease. The run flow slowed down, and KKR seized control of the proceedings.
At 118-3 after 9 overs, SRH still had a decent platform, but losing two well-set batters in the same over could prove to be a turning point. Muzarabani’s impactful spell has brought KKR right back into the contest, setting up an exciting finish at Eden Gardens.
