Suryakumar Yadav, who took over following the retirements of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, India have won 30 of their 34 matches since July 2024, with only four defeats. Suryakumar Yadav who is averaging less than 15 in this format in 2025 has been shown faith by the selectors and coach as he is backed to come good. Ishan Kishan has also been named in the squad in a surprise move.
India are placed in Group A alongside Namibia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, and the United States. India will start their campaign against the USA on February 7 in Mumbai.
