Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Cameron Green dismissed LSG skipper Rishabh Pant in his first bowled over of the IPL 2026. The KKR were up against the Lucknow Super Giants at home on Thursday in the 15th league-stage game of the T20 tournament. The Knight Riders entered the game without a win and put on a modest total of 181 at the loss of four wickets after being asked to bat first.

Cameron Green after posting 32* runs off 24 balls in the first innings, took the ball in the second. This was the first time the Aussie star was bowling in the current edition as he was barred from bowling by Cricket Australia. The 26-year-old got off to a flying start and picked LSG skipper Rishabh Pant’s wicket on the second ball of his first over. Green delivered a short ball for the visiting captain on the second delivery of the ninth over, and Pant responded by hitting it for a big shot. However, Kartik Tyagi ended up catching it to send Pant at ten runs in nine balls.

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen Questions Cameron Greens’ place

Notably, Green was signed by the KKR for a mammoth sum of INR 25.50 crore in the IPL 2026 auction, held in Abu Dhabi last year. While he was expected to deliver an impressive performance in the tournament, the Aussie star didn’t bowl for his team in the first three games. Later, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane revealed that he was barred from bowling by the Australian Cricket Board.

This landed Green on the receiving end of criticism and fans as well as pundits questioned his place in the playing XI, including Pietersen. “I'm against talking about the money because the money is something that just happens,” the cricketer-turned-commentator said. “These guys don't earn as much money as some of the other sportsmen around the world. But obviously, a lot of people like to talk about what I like to talk about, which is cricketing ability. And whether or not you're good enough to be in a position of power and batting a 3 in an IPL team, you have to be good enough to be able to perform at that level,” he added.

As of writing, Green could manage to pick only one wicket against LSG.
