In an Instagram post Chennai Super Kings revealed 4 players whom they targeted but could not get in the IPL Mini Auction 2026. Those players include Cameron Green, Matheesha Pathirana, Venkatesh Iyer and Liam Livingstone.

Check out their post below.

Cameron Green was sold for Kolkata Knight Riders for 25.2 Crore. Chennai Super Kings fought in a bidding war with KKR but ultimately had to back out once it reached 25 crore mark. Cameron Green was one of their main targets but they could not get him.

Matheesha Pathirana who has been with Chennai Super Kings ever since IPL debut was released by CSK ahead of the auction. Their plan was always to buy him back at a lower rate but Kolkata Knight Riders broke bank once again and he was sold to KKR for 18 Crore.

Venkatesh Iyer, the all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh was another player whom CSK targeted before Auction. There were a lot of rumours regarding will they pick him but he was sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 7 Crore.

Liam Livingstone was a surprise. He went unsold in Round 1 and no team showed any interest but in the later round he was sold to Sunrisers for 13 Crore. Chennai Super Kings desperately needed an overseas finished and someone who can bowl some overs of spin. So Livingstone would have been a perfect fit but he also couldn’t be secured. This Instagram post has gone viral and fans are getting a glimpse of these players whom CSK wanted before Auction but could not get them due to IPL Auction Dynamics.
