With over 4200 runs in the Indian Premier League and over a decade of relevant and consistent experience in the Indian Premier League, Sanju Samson is a resourceful talent in the most famous franchise league where it comes to T20 cricket.

Of lately, his presence with his newfound IPL home, i.e., the Chennai Super Kings has also generated tons of excitement and interest.

He’s in form and is billed to play a handy role this season for the CSK team.

But with that also comes a major development, now confirmed by none other than the CEO, CSK.

So what is it?

A significant update has emerged from the Chennai Super Kings camp, with the franchise confirming a key change behind the stumps.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has stated that Sanju Samson will take over wicketkeeping duties in the absence of MS Dhoni.

Dhoni, who has been the backbone of CSK both as a leader and wicketkeeper for years, leaves a significant void whenever unavailable. The decision to hand the gloves to Samson indicates the team’s trust in his experience and ability to handle pressure in a crucial role.

Samson, already known for his sharp wicketkeeping skills and aggressive batting, brings both stability and flexibility to the side. His inclusion behind the stumps could also allow CSK to maintain balance in their playing XI.

This move ensures continuity for CSK as they navigate a phase without Dhoni, with Samson expected to play a key role both as a keeper and a middle-order batter.
