Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was taken aback by a question asked by broadcaster Danny Morrison during the toss ahead of the GT vs PBKS match in IPL 2026. Gill won the toss and opted to field, but the interchange took a different turn as Danny Morrison, out of nowhere, asked Gill whether he was getting married. The GT batsman was stunned by a sudden question out of nowhere and simply replied ‘no’. The conversation soon ended abruptly as Danny Morrison turned to Shreyas Iyer to discuss the game.

But in no time, the video went viral on social media. The conversation went along this way:

Morrison: Wedding bells around the corner? Getting married soon, Shub?

Gill: No. No. Nothing like that.

Morrison: Good to see you.

This is not the first time that Danny Morrison has asked such a question to Shubman Gill; he did something similar during the KKR vs GT game at Eden Gardens too in IPL 2025. Morrison asked, "You're looking lovely, no wedding bells in the future. What's happening? You getting married?" and he received a similar reply then too from Gill

Gill previously talked about his single status in an interview

There have been rumours about Shubman Gill dating a lot all around social media for a long time, keeping fans speculating about his relationship status and when he will finally tie the knot. But Gill, in an interview previously with Hollywood Reporter, clarified that he has been single for the last three years and has no time to think about all this, as his main focus right now is his career.

"I mean, I've been single for over three years, and so many speculations and rumours link me with different people. And sometimes, it's so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life. And I would be hearing rumours about why I'm with this person and this person, where else I'd be, like," said Gill.

"Like, I know I'm so focused on what I need to do in my professional career. There is no space in my life to be with someone for 300 days a year. We are on the road, travelling somewhere. So there is hardly any time to be with someone or invest, you know, the time to be with someone in a relationship," he added.

Notably, Gill has led GT to five out of nine wins this IPL season.
