
South African legend David Miller once again proved that he is a man for the big stages. Indian bowlers started really well against South Africa in the Super 8 match. South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. But Indian pacers dominated the powerplay and have put India in the pole position. South Africa were restricted to 20/3 at the end of four overs with the pacers doing most of the damage. David Miller walked in when South Africa were in trouble and has managed to rescue them. Quinton De Kock was the first batter to go as he was dismissed for six by Bumrah. In the next over, South African captain Aiden Markram fell to Arshdeep Singh as South Africa were reduced to 12/2. Jasprit Bumrah struck again in his second over as South Africa were in all sorts of trouble losing three wickets with just 20 on the board.
David Miller playing his 136th T20I match brought all his experience to the fore to help South Africa recover from a tricky position. When Miller came into bat, India brought Varun Chakravarthy to counter him but the left hand batter was taking the bowlers on from ball 1. He smashed Varun for two boundaries and reached his first 10 runs of just five balls. It was a counter attacking start instead of consolidating. Miller scored two more boundaries in the next over as South Africa finished the powerplay with 41/3. Miller was on 18 of just 10 balls.
The seventh over was once again productive as South Africa scored 11 runs of it and then in the ninth over Brevis and Miller took apart Varun Chakravarthy as they smashed 17 runs of the over. South Africa recovered from 20/3 and these two batters stitched on a partnership of more than fifty.
Dewald Brevis took the bowlers to the cleaners a28s both batters helped South Africa reach 99/3 at the end of 11 overs.
