arrest the current state of plight of the once strong and resilient Kolkata Knight Riders.

With a fourth defeat already conceded this season, the latest bartering handed over to Chennai Super Kings (who until a week ago, had themselves been struggling), KKR seem to be in a bit of a soup at the moment. 

For the first time in their history, Kolkata Knight Riders are yet to win a match after their first five games in an IPL season.

It has been a difficult start to the campaign for the two-time champions. The team has struggled to find consistency, with both batting and bowling not clicking together. At key moments in matches, KKR have fallen short, which has cost them results.

The Poor results onslaught 

This poor run has put the team under early pressure. In a tournament like the IPL, where the margin for error is small, a slow start can make it tough to recover and stay in the race for the playoffs.

There are also questions around team combinations and strategy, as frequent changes have not yet brought success. The team will be looking for stronger performances from both senior players and younger talent in the coming matches.

Under pressure himself due to a clear lack of runs and there not being a single match winning knock under his belt so far, Ajinkya Rahane seems not the perfect man at least at the moment to lead the KKR to safer seas. There’s a lot on his plate- including the key talent such as Rinku Singh not delivering as per expectations. 

Where does Rahane and KKR go from here? Of that there’s little clue!
