The action is already on and the heat at the moment is being felt by the opponents of the India women’s cricket side. India are in great shaape as far as their plans and preparations for the buzzing 2026 Asian Games stand and are concerned? Forget not, they will be enterprising the series as defending gold medalists.

The games for the Indian squad run from September 17 to 22, 2026, at the Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi Prefecture.

But guess what? The team that is being led by none other than the great Harmanpreet Kaur has already opened the campaign in the present day commotion- women’s Asia Cup- with a banger of a performance against Thailand women.

The present day competition serves as a perfect practice base to prepare as best as one can to bring in glory in the forthcoming Asian Games, 2026 in Japan.  

The win over Thailand women was indeed a remarkable and resounding one as a massive 94-run win was achieved. The main highlight of the startling performance being Deepti Sharma, who’s created a special piece of history by the way.

It took her just 7 deliveries to clinch 3 wickets whilst conceding not a single run. Not one run. As a matter of fact, and rather remarkably so, Deepti Sharma also played her 150th T20I just recently with this particular contest being her milestone game.

On the whole, as far as the entirety of women’s cricket at the international level is concerned, she’s just the 12th Cricketer to achieve this feat and just the second from India to have played 150 T20 Internationals. This is such a fine moment for a cricketer who has no fewer than 171 T20 wickets for India in the game’s briefest format. One in which she’s also struck north of 1200 runs!

But she’s clearly the Cricketer of the moment at the international stage because she is right now, the highest wicket taker in T20 International games. What a splendid achievement.

But where T20 form of the women’s side is concerned then things on the whole haven’t exactly been all that bright.
