With a purse value of Rs 21.8 crore, Delhi Capitals entered the mini-auction with a healthy purse and a settled XI, they just need to fix a few issues at the top of the order. To fix their revolving opening slot, they signed Pathum Nissanka and Ben Duckett as overseas openers whole adding Prithvi Shaw as Indian cover. Ben Duckett was a steal at base price and Shaw was picked in the accelerated round for just 75 Lakh. David Miller was another excellent middle-order addition and they secured his services at base price. So overall, they did a pretty good job.

They picked up Lungi Ngidi and Kyle Jamieson at base price which provides them multiple options to use them as backup of Starc or use along with him. While the biggest talking point was uncapped J&K all-rounder Auqib Nabi Dar. He emerged as their costliest buy for more than 8 Crore and he has been in excellent form in the domestic circuit. DC focused on depth and versatility and have done a fine job in assembling a lot of players who might not be big names but certainly can do the job for the team.
