He’s a quiet all-rounder. He’s a brilliant all-rounder. Any he lets his performances do the talking, and he doesn’t have too many words to say about himself or his game. Quiet are ways of the elegant stars of Cricket. Not everybody believes in hype, but everybody believes in hyping himself for his craft, much like this shenanigans that certain cricketers carry, and where it comes to certain Jason and Omar holder, then a dignified style and conduct on the game is what you see and essentially, what you say, is what you get in his case.
Even though yesterday, he failed to fire with the bat, which is often his strong hand, where he uses the long lever to come into effect, Jason Holder was quite the brilliant staff of Gujarat Titans with the ball, even though touch expensive when he came into bowl, he took too important and prized wickets. Unless we forget, these were two huge wickets in the context of the game, one each of Virat Kohli, who made 43 runs and Devdut Paddikal, who’s been in such glorious form with the bat.

As a matter of fact, ever since Jason Holder has joined the rank of the Gujarat Titans this season, he’s been bringing about the downfall of many reed batter as seen in the IPL 2026 edition, and this did not change even yesterday in the game at Dharamshala.
But then What’s, also a fact is that it becomes very hard for the team chasing to run after 255 runs as 254 batting first is a monumental total. Is it not?
So it was always going to be difficult for Jason Holder the batter to come out and back the ball and go after the big runs, especially knowing the fact that Royal Challengers Bangalore have a very sorted bowling attack.
He fell for a single digit score, and that’s a rare sight, but it’s what happened at the week of his dismissal that made headlines and charmingly so. In a team, which already has big names with the bat such as Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia and Jos Buttler - Jason Holder too, carries a lot of impetus with the bat.
But his time to star with the bat wasn’t going to be there and most certainly it didn’t happen yesterday evening. He really wasn’t among the runs, and when the wicket of the big man fell, then the entire RCB camp came together to celebrate around the wicket, and one man, in particular, was jumping. Joy. Literally speaking that man was not other than Devdutt Padikkal. Why?
New prizes for guessing, the left hander’s wicket had earlier been removed by Holder himself.
So obviously, it was time to celebrate. It was time to bring sense of joy amongst his teammates.
It was time for some reverie. And in some ways, the fall folders wicket also meant that one of the most reliable names in the Gujarat side had fallen.
Although, the Gujarat still have a chance to make it through, if they can win, then next game as they do, have a second chance.
