What was just a speculation few days ago is finally officially confirmed by Royal Challenger’s Bangalore management as RCB mentor Dinesh Kartik reveals that Phil Salt is till injured and will not be a part of the team against Delhi Capitals on April 27. In a statement given to Cricbuzz this is revealed, although Salt is suffering from an undisclosed injury from net sessions that the management is not chosen to reveal but they have been vocal nothing is serious. RCB management doesn’t want to rush Salt in playing XI so they have dropped him from the game against DC.

Ever since Salt’s appearance in KKR with his explosive opening batting and then released by them, RCB grabbed the opportunity since IPL 2025. Salt has been an integral part of the team scoring 220 runs till date this season. In IPL 2026 he has been going all guns blazing as an opener with Virat Kohli scoring half centuries against MI and DC and a quickfire 46 against CSK. Salt missed the last game against GT too where England batsman Jacob Bethel replaced him in playing 11 but couldn’t shine as much though. As seen Salt has not travelled even with the team to Delhi.
RCB look forward to take revenge against Delhi Capitals
In IPL 2026 RCB is looked upon as one of the teams that is most balanced and strong alongside PBKS and RR and is expecte to reach the playoffs. The Rajat Patidar led side has been continuing their good form since their winning team last season. Although this year they have only lost one match in their homeground and that is against DC, so RCB is eyeing to take a revenge on April 27 at Arun Jaitley Stadium. It was a last over thriller as David Miller scored 13 runs to give DC their win in Chinnaswamy with crucial innings from KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs too.
The RCB team management Mo Bobat said that RCB batsman were unable to handle that Chinnaswamy pitch and ended up scoring few runs short and that was the main reason for the loss."Yeah, we probably weren't as fluent as we normally are. Obviously, we've been a pretty strong batting unit so far in the games gone. I wouldn't over-analyse that too much. We'll review honestly like we always do.We'll always consider things that we did well and things that we could improve. Ultimately, we've been batting very well through this competition. So, we'll take some learning from this game and then we'll try and get back into our normal groove in the next one.” Bobat said in his post match interview.
Do you think RCB will be successful in taking revenge against DC on April 27th?
