From becoming the youngest ever debutant in the famed Indian Premier League (aged just 13, let that not be forgotten) to striking the fastest 500 runs in the competition at just 15 years of age (also an IPL record), Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created quite a havoc in the minds and hearts of bowlers contesting in the elite franchise T20 league. Whenever he comes out to bat, it’s records galore. How so? He also holds the record for striking the second fastest century in the Indian Premier League, taking just 35 deliveries against the Gujarat Titans in a 2025 contest In so doing, he’s become a batting sensation, a youngster who advances down the wicket to just about any bowler out there and a real existing threat for most teams out there.
The Suryavanshi show goes on and on Yesterday evening too, Suryavanshi exhibited his brave strokeplay and some daring white ball striking when he hit an another IPL century, scoring 103 off just 37 odd deliveries. In so doing, he struck 12 sixes and made the likes of even Pat Cummins and Malinga from the SRH camp seem like easy targets. But then there was also a problem with that effort, a spectacular batting feat, as his Rajasthan Royals found out in the second innings.

The issue with Suryavanshi
The daring left hander who now has north of 330 runs in the IPL best batters of 2026 tally likely suffered from a hamstring concern. This meant that he wasn’t to be seen for the better part of Rajasthan Royals’ bowling inning as he had to be urgently attended to and had to be withered away from the ground, though not without some assistance.
The young cricketer wasn’t even able to walk off from the ground and nursing what looked like a proper hamstring strain, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had to be assisted by two members of the RR squad off the ground.
On the extent of the injury Now, let’s come to the extent of the left hander’s injury. What do we know about it and what’s making news?
To that end, it’s important to note what Rajasthan Royals’s batting coach Vikram Rathour has had to say about Suryavanshi and how’s he’s feeling at present!
To that end, the RR fans and loyalists would be delighted to note that the former Indian cricketer shared that Suryavanshi had been feeling slight discomfort in his hamstring. But upon being offered treatment, he’s been feeling fine and his situation isn’t any serious.
What that means
It certainly offers hope to the extent that the daring youngster will make himself available for Rajasthan Royals’s next IPL contest, which is in a couple of day’s time. And more importantly, the solid opening stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal at the other end, shall not suffer from any bump in fortunes continuing the way it has been- thus far.
