As Team India fine-tunes its preparations ahead of the the ICC Men's T20 World Cup India & Sri Lanka 2026, JioStar experts Sanjay Bangar, Suresh Raina, Anil Kumble and Irfan Pathan on JioHotstar's 'T20 Titans', looked ahead at the top performers for the Men in Blue with the bat, leading into their title defence.
Sanjay Bangar shared his thoughts on captain Suryakumar Yadav's ability to play around with the field settings:
“The secret of Suryakumar Yadav’s success is his amazing intelligence. The way he reads the bowlers’ plans, understands the field settings, finds gaps, and plays shots into areas where fielders are not placed is remarkable.”
Irfan Pathan commended Suryakumar Yadav's prowess against the spinners:
“Apart from the ‘Supla shot’ that he plays, I like the way he sets himself against spinners and dictates the game in those moments. When he plays the cut shot, I get the sense that he’s either ready to play the sweep or go through the covers against a left-arm spinner, which is very exciting to watch.”
Suresh Raina applauded Shivam Dube's six-hitting ability:
“Dube’s ability to hit long sixes while staying in his crease is a major asset. In a T20 World Cup in the subcontinent, there will be a lot of spin bowling in the powerplay and middle overs. Whenever a captain or coach considers bowling a left-arm spinner, he makes them think twice, because he can play that role masterfully well.”
