England have named their 16 man squad for the upcoming ODI series against India which is set to begin on 14th July. England have handed a maiden ODI call up to Sussex all-rounder James Coles who was impressive for the England A side recently. Jofra Archer also returns to the setup having played his last ODI game back in November last year. Pacers Gus Atkinson and Saqib Mahmood who missed the Sri Lanka ODI series earlier this year have also been included in the squad. Harry Brook is set to lead the side and they have named a very strong squad for this three-match series.
When we compare this squad to the 15 man squad that toured Sri Lanka earlier this year, England have made four changes. Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Saqib Mahmood and James Coles have replaced Zak Crawley, Jamie Overton, Luke Wood and Brydon Carse. The core of the England ODI setup remains unchanged and they will be looking to build the side keeping in mind the upcoming World Cup which is set to be played in South Africa next year.
