He initiated a unique cross-country trip from a remote district in coastal Odisha. The young traveler travelled over 1800 kms entirely on a bicycle to get a glimpse of his sporting idol.
As soon as he met his idol, Hardik Pandya won hearts with a gesture that soon went viral all-over social media. The fans put a ceremonial shawl across the shoulders of Hardik Pandya as a sign of deep cultural respect. After meeting with the fan, Hardik Pandya gave away a signed Indian jersey with the number 33 on the back. As per several reports emerging across multiple social platforms it also claimed that Hardik Pandya covered the fan's return transit costs. The senior player reportedly contributed 1 lakh and 50 thousand to the fan as a cash reward along with a One8 sneaker. One8 is a brand co-founded by Virat Kohli and it is one of the leading sportswear fashion brands.
