
Former PSL franchise Multan Sultans owner Ali Khan Tareen has come up with a new league after failing to secure his previous PSL franchise. Ali Khan Tareen had a rift with PCB which went on for months and also led to his contract being declined. In a recent development, Ali Khan Tareen has announced a new league called the ‘’Tape ball Championship” in Pakistan. He made this announcement by releasing a video on twitter and shared updates about it. Speaking in the video Ali Tareen was spotted saying that he was fascinated by Tape Ball cricket and wants to take it mainstream.

Tape Ball cricket is already a big event and popular in Pakistan where they play a lot of tape ball cricket and players earn pretty decently and the crowds are usually good. Speaking in the video Ali Tareen said “I have always been fascinated by Tape Ball Cricket, It is a different world of cricket an time to get involved and make it mainstream”. He said in a video released on social media platform X. He made this post last Thursday.
Ali Tareen also said that Tape ball is the most played, most watched and most accessible sport in Pakistan and it is under commercialized so far and that is something he wants to change. He said “I’ve spent years watching the talent from the sidelines. Now I’m stepping in as a stakeholder to help bridge the gap between street and professional sporting standards’’

He also made the announcement that the league will run from February 28 to March 7 and noted that the goal was to create a sustainable system for grassroot level. Ali Tareen also sighted the examples of Taimoor Mirza and Fahad Mia Channu as superstars of Tape Ball cricket. The entire fixtures, teams and squads are yet to be announced but we can expect an announcement soon.
