In a Sportstak podcast, sports journalist Vikrant Gupta was seen talking to the former Indian team player Yuvraj Singh, who talked about the veteran players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Yuvraj Singh strongly advocated for respect and clarity for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli regarding their future in the Indian team.
Yuvraj emphasised that as legends of the game, both players deserve to be treated with dignity and provided with a clear roadmap for the 2027 ODI World Cup. He stated that Rohit Sharma has been the "best white-ball opener" and a World Cup-winning captain, while Virat Kohli is one of the greatest players of this generation. Yuvraj urged the BCCI selectors to have an honest conversation with them. He argued it is "unfair" to keep such senior players in the dark about whether they are part of the long-term vision or if the team plans to move on to younger players like Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Yuvraj reiterated that while the media's job is to criticise, his role as a former teammate is to support them like brothers.
