Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has hit back at the critics after he was asked a question regarding his recent T20 World Cup snub. When asked to Shubman Gill about missing the T20 World Cup campaign for India, he replied that he has no regrets and that he does not need to prove his skills to anyone as he has been a prolific run scorer. He also said that his focus is on making Gujarat Titans win the trophy in this edition of the IPL. Watch the video here
In the video Gill can be spotted saying ‘’I have scored the most runs in the IPL over the past three to four seasons and have performed consistently well as a batsman. I have no regrets about not being selected for the T20 World Cup. I don’t need to prove my skills to anyone, and we will win the trophy again’’. These were strong words from the Gujarat Titans captain who has slammed the critics who question whether he is suited to the T20I format.
Shubman Gill was the vice-captain of the Indian T20I side before the WT20 but due to poor form over the last year he was dropped from the side just a series before the WT20 and had to miss out on selection. His replacement, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan performed really well and helped India win the 2026 WT20.
When it comes to the IPL, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has been a prolific run getter for his side over the last few seasons. He has consistently put-up good performances which has helped Gujarat do well. He took over the captaincy of the team once Hardik went to Mumbai Indians and has done a good job so far. Gujarat Titans have already won an IPL trophy under Hardik but Shubman Gill has made it clear that he wants to make sure Gujarat Titans win the trophy in the upcoming season of the IPL.
