One of the consistent performing sides ever since they made their IPL debut in 2022 is the Gujarat Titans. In their first ever year they won the IPL trophy under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. In the next edition they were the runners up losing to Chennai Super Kings in the Final. They had a slight dip in form in 2024 where they could not qualify. In the previous edition they once again performed really well and made it to the playoffs but lost in the Eliminator to Mumbai Indians. Shubman Gill took over from Hardik Pandya in 2024 but they have had Ashish Nehra as coach and the team management has remained mostly the same.
The thing that has made them a special unit is their tactical discipline. Despite not having the best of squads they manage to produce the results every season. Despite losing Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians, it has been visible that Gujarat Titans have managed to have their core players in the side. They have a top-heavy batting lineup, plenty of pacers and Rashid Khan. While other teams have tried to go very heard in the power play and in the process lost wickets, Gujarat Titans as visible in the previous editions they consolidate and lose very few wickets at the top and as the innings go deeper, they manage to eventually get to the winning totals.

There is the red soil pitch which is generally high scoring, there is the black soil which helps spinners and there is a mixture which is a balanced one. Even in the last season Parthiv Patel who is part of the Gujarat Titans think tank had revealed that the team plans tactics around opposition and based on that they give different pitches. They have made their home a fortress.
