
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has scored his maiden List A century during the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The match was played between Baroda and Vidarbha at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Saturday. Hardik Pandya who is playing his first game of the season played a stunning knock while batting at seven and score his century off just 68 balls. It was terrific knock as he did not get support from others.
Hardik Pandya came in to bat at number seven when Baroda were struggling at 71/5 in the 20th over. He looked in sublime touch as he reached his half-century in 44 balls. However, he changed gears quickly and reached his century in the next 24 balls. Notably, he hit five consecutive sixes and a four in the 39th over to go from 66* to 100* in just six balls.
In the Karnataka game, Devdutt Padikkal continues to tumble records in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. The left-handed batter brought up his fourth hundred across five innings in the season. He smashed a century today against Tripura at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
This was Devdutt Padikkal’s 13th hundred in the List A format and he averages more than 82 in this format. Each of Padikkal’s 13 List A tons has come in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he is yet to make his Indian debut. Padikkal is now the batter with the third-most tons in VHT history and with the Indian selection round the corner the Karnataka batter is knocking down the door.
Gujarat all-rounder Axar Patel scored his maiden List A century during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Gujarat and Andhra at the Alur Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru. Axar reached the milestone off 98 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes. He was eventually dismissed on 130 by M Anjaneyelu.
Axar Patel had scored 12 half-centuries in List A cricket but his highest score was 98 not out prior to this match but he looked in good flow and reached his first List A century today. Overall, Axar has played 171 List A matches, including 71 ODIs for India. He was not picked in the previous series against South Africa where Jadeja was given the preference. In other matches, Tilak Varma managed to score a century while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a half century. The Indians batters have dominated the VHT this season.
