Kolkata Knight Riders dropped a short gym video on twitter with the caption “Wait for it” and a couple of laughing emojis. It looked like a routine training clip of Varun Chakravarthy initially but quickly turned into the biggest talking point. The mystery spinner is seen at the BCCI Centre of Excellence focused on a barbell, when Hardik Pandya casually walks past behind him. After looking at the camera, the all-rounder starts mimicking Varun’s movements, repeats the act a couple of times, laughs, and strolls away. The whole video was just a few seconds but it went viral on social media. Within hours the post crossed a plenty of views and the comments section filled up with the biggest rumour regarding Hardik Pandya joining Kolkata Knight Riders.

Varun has been working hard at the CoE while recovering from a hamstring niggle that forced him out of India’s recent T20 assignments. The Tamil Nadu spinner has had a tough few months with fitness having also dealt with a foot issue towards the end of IPL 2026. The video shows him back in the gym and grinding through the rehab process that every player goes through when the body needs more time. This video went viral and fans could not stop with the speculations.

Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy Focus on India Comebacks

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been the topic of non-stop trade rumours ever since the IPL season ended. Reports have linked him with a possible move away from Mumbai Indians, and KKR’s name keeps coming up, especially with questions around the side’s leadership after Ajinkya Rahane’s retirement. A light-hearted gym moment between a current Knight Rider and a player many fans want in purple was always going to light the fuse.

Kolkata Knight Riders have not said anything more. It was just the original clip and the quiet confidence of a franchise that knows exactly how to keep the conversation going. For Varun Chakravarthy the focus will be to make a comeback from injury. He had missed the Zimbabwe T20I series due to the injury. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been out of action since the end of IPL. The pace bowling all-rounder has dealt with plenty of injuries but has recovered well and is working hard at the COE to make a comeback.
