England has always been considered as one of the finest nations when it comes to the gentlemen’s game. They have been highly successful in red ball cricket and have replicated a few heroics in white ball cricket as well. The three lions are the joint most successful side at the T20 World Cup having won the title twice.

After Jos Buttler’s departure from the shortest format, England’s wonderkid Harry Brook has taken up the leadership role. Brook served as Buttler’s deputy for over two years before stepping up full-time. He has shown a lot of grit and determination as the captain of England and can very well take his team to being a champion side.

Let us take a look at Harry Brook’s record as a captain across all the formats. T20Is Brook recently took over the reins of England’s T20 setup very recently and has not had many matches to play. However, he has still shown great signs of leadership and how he can shape the English side under his guidance. England haven’t lost a single series since Brook took charge and have won five out of eight games with a solid win percentage of 83.33. His wins include series triumphs over West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka along with a draw with South Africa.

ODIs

The first time Brook was handed the ODI captaincy was during a five match series against Australia while Jos Buttler was injured and unavailable. England couldn’t win that series, but a future leader was born. He took over the captaincy officially in 2025 and clinched a dominant 3-0 win over the West Indies in his very first series. A 2-1 loss to South Africa was followed by a 3-0 defeat to New Zealand. However, England bounced back with a 2-1 win over Sri Lanka in January 2026.
