The Punjab Kings extended their unbeaten streak with a historic run chase of 265 and this is the highest chase in T20 cricket. The Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer batted till the very end and ensured that his side got across the line at the end. Shashank Singh also played a vital cameo as he scored some quickfire runs at the back-end of the innings. It was the opening duo of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh that laid the foundation as they were stunning in the power play. Prabhsimran had even smashed Mukesh Kumar for 6 fours in an over and became just the third batter in the IPL to achieve the feat. The Punjab Kings secured their victory by 6 wickets and they still had an over to go. There seems to be no stopping for the Punjab Kings in this edition of the IPL.

After the 1st innings of the match, it seemed almost inevitable that the Delhi Capitals would win the match with KL Rahul scoring a superhuman knock of 152. There are not many teams that would go back in the dressing room and back themselves to chase it down but the Punjab Kings are just built differently. The bowling attack of the Delhi Capitals tried their best but the fielders didn’t support them. Karun Nair put down the catch of Shreyas Iyer twice in the innings and we could have seen a different result, if that catch was taken. The batting display of the Punjab Kings has overpowered the class of KL Rahul and they extend their lead at the top of the table.
