Rajasthan Royals’ rising batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi left the field mid-game during the clash against SunRisers Hyderabad. The Royals hosted the Orange Army in the 36th-league stage game of the IPL 2026 at Sawai ManSingh Stadium in the Pink City, Jaipur. Batting first, the Royals put up a competitive total of 228 with the loss of six wickets. The child prodigy recorded his second IPL hundred, the fastest of the IPL 2026 season, off just 36 balls, to give the home team the upper hand during the game.

However, in the second innings, things went south for Sooryavanshi as he suffered a hamstring issue. The incident took place after the completion of the third over, after he tried to give chase to the last played ball. The Physio entered the field and the 15-year-old was seen limping off the field. Needless to say, the discomfort faced by the lad sent fans and team worrying about him considering the frequent injury issues faced by players during the game. However, an official update on Sooryavanshi’s niggle is expected soon.

I just played according to the ball: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reflects on fiery knock against SRH

During the mid-innings break, the 15-year-old reflected on his knock, and said that he just played according to the ball. “I just played according to the ball. The wicket felt good, so I backed my game,” Sooryavanshi said.

He spoke on playing at the same venue, where he scored both his centuries now. Sooryavanshi admitted, “Nothing much, sir. Just that I wanted to give 100% for the team and back my game. Sir, I think about which bowlers are in the opposition, what shots I can play against them, and how big the boundaries are on both sides. I try to visualize all of that. (on the pitch) The wicket is good, sir.”

Fans and Sooryavanshi’s admirers would want the issue to be just a niggle and nothing serious.
