Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni haven’t been speaking a lot really but recently there was a pleasant social media exchange between the two in which MSD’s actual physical on ground support to turn up for team India as a spectator at Ahmedabad didn’t go sans a sweet mention by current coach, Gautam Gambhir.
Gambhir also underlined his regard for Dhoni most recently when speaking to a media group.
When Gautam Gambhir reacted to MS Dhoni’s Instagram post, his words carried more weight than a simple compliment.
After acknowledging the presence of former cricketers at the final and appreciating the gesture, Gambhir added: “I wish one day he could be in my position… and I can write the same thing for him.” On the surface, it sounds like a polite remark.
But read deeper, and it reflects something far more meaningful.
Gambhir isn’t just praising Dhoni — he’s projecting a future.
