For someone who debuted at the tender age of 13, has already collected the record of scoring the fastest 500 runs in the Indian Premier League, and make six hitting an inveterate habit, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a name that is here to stay. It’s a name that already sends shockwave down many a bowlers’ spine and it’s a talent like no other. He is already a hot seller and a priceless commodity, so to speak, in the absolutely entertaining world of the Indian Premier League and perhaps may only grow further in his overall appeal and magnificence as far as the Indian Premier League is concerned.
But while it might be a touch too premature to state that certain kinds of chinks have already begun to appear in Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s armour, what can be submitted with a sense of quiet surety is that there is after all a manner in which the hugely and redoubtably agressive batter can find his match!
Or should it be said, there is a manner in which the blazing Rajathan Royals batter (one known to produce resoundingly good and royal starts) can be kept quiet.
For starters, the batter who scored another quickfire 36 that came off just 16 and in no time at all (the last evening against the Gujarat Titans), found a great match in Kyle Jamieson of the Delhi Capitals. But that was a first meet between the two bright names of the IPL galaxy.

But how come?
After Jamieson bowled a peach of a delivery, a nearly toe crushing Yorker of sorts and one that completely outfoxed the brilliant striker of the cricket ball, it was seen that Suryavanshi had no answer.
But that was one.
The other, perhaps equally compelling mode of dismissal, was evident the last evening!
After going for a few big shots, the frustration of leaking runs was quite evident and early on, where Mohd Siraj was concerned.
The man nicknamed adoringly “deputy” was keen to get to the bottom of the Vaibhav Suryavanshi puzzle!
And it could be said, not long after being hit mightily for a commanding six, Siraj, most certainly, bounced back and for good!
In keeping up with the shorter delivery, despite being hit insofar for runs, Suryavanshi was bowled yet another comfortably shorter one. And perhaps what eventually led to his walking back from the crease was the inevitable excitement of having a go at that one.
It could be argued that the blazing left hander could not evade the temptation of having a go at another shorter one bowled sharply towards the middle and leg stump and went for another big shot.
In plotting the big key dismissal of Suryanashi, it could be argued, both the brilliant bowler, Siraj on this occasion, and his daring captain, Shubman Gill stuck to a plan. And that was to not get intimidated but stick to their strengths and that’s what paid off.
Suryavanshi, who’s such a fine striker of the cricket ball, would have wanted to evade the temptation of going for another big shot but found himself falling to the desire of flirting with danger and ended up finding the shorter delivery as his big folly.
