Former India cricketer R Ashwin was engaged in a hilariously candid and unscripted moment on his YouTube channel. The spinning wizard invited cricket analyst and creator ‘Pdogg’ on his channel, who accidentally roasted the legendary cricketer to his face. However, Ashwin’s deadpan response to him has sent social media into a frenzy, racking up millions of views across multiple social media channels. During the interaction, the analyst and Ashwin were debating about mainstream television cricket coverage and match predictions.

However, Pdogg ended up making a passionate point towards the reliability of pre-match technical assessments, including the pitch reports. He said, "Pitch reports are done by idiots who just do it for money. They know nothing.” However, his statement instantly froze the atmosphere and Ashwin, known for his sharp remarks and analytical mind, came up with a deadpan response. “I am the one who did it,” the former India star said.

Not the first case where Aswhin defended his pitch reports

Notably, the interaction between him and Pdogg wasn’t the first instance where the former CSK player defended his analysis. Following the Chennai Super Kings’ last home game against the SunRisers Hyderabad, Ashwin defended his pre-match analysis and pointed to a tactical disparity in how both teams utilized slower deliveries. He had advised the team winning the toss to bat first. But following criticism from fans and experts after the game’s result, he took to X and gave a breakdown of his report.

"Yes! I did the pitch report & I did say that the team winning the toss should bat first!" Ashwin posted on X. "All cricket experts here, take a minute & read this to understand where the game was lost. The pitch used was perfect for their contest against SRH too. They showed better game sense and resolve to win the contest,” he added.
