The recent episode of The Switch, hosted by Kevin Pietersen on his The Switch YouTube Channel, has gone viral for highlighting the sheer, fearless confidence of India's 15-year-old batting phenom, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The show is built around a brutal simulator game called the "Score 100" challenge. The batsman has to score 100 runs within 50 balls. The initial delivery starts at a comfortable 51 mph, but the bowling machine increases the speed by exactly 1 mph after every single ball, eventually tracking up toward a blistering 100 mph. If the batsman gets out at any point, 5 runs are immediately deducted from their total score. Suryavanshi, who plays for the Rajasthan Royals, completely decimated the challenge.
He brought up his century in a mind-boggling 25 balls, showcasing the same unique bat swing and nonchalant, raw power hitting that has made him the youngest centurion in real-life IPL history. During the post-challenge sit-down, Kevin Pietersen noticed the teenager's incredibly calm demeanor and asked why he rarely celebrates his half-centuries. Suryavanshi's response left the English legend stunned, "I don't celebrate 50s that much. I want to score 200 in T20s. I want to break Gayle's record. If I play 20 overs in any game, I definitely will break that record." Far from being empty talk, Suryavanshi has the stats to back up his ambition. In the ongoing IPL 2026 season, he is currently leading the tournament as the Orange Cap holder and already holds two of the three fastest centuries in IPL history (hitting a 35-ball ton and a 36-ball ton).
Rajasthan Royals qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) pulled off a massive high-stakes heist on the final day of the league phase to secure their spot. Going into the final weekend, the battle for the #4 spot was an absolute bottleneck between Rajasthan Royals (14 points), Punjab Kings (15 points), and Kolkata Knight Riders (13 points). Punjab Kings had already finished their league stage at 15 points. For Rajasthan Royals, the math was black and white: win and they are through to 16 points; lose, and they would be knocked out by Punjab due to NRR. RR's 30-run demolition of Mumbai Indians instantly pushed them to 16 points, turning KKR's subsequent night match against Delhi Capitals into a completely meaningless dead-rubber.
Rajasthan Royals posted a formidable 205/8 after a shaky start left them reeling at 33/2 during the powerplay, with early dismissals of openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Dhruv Jurel anchored the recovery phase with a measured 38 off 26 balls, steering the middle order through immense pressure. The defining momentum shift came from the lower order, spearheaded by Jofra Archer, who launched a savage, late-overs assault to blast an unbeaten 32 runs from just 15 deliveries, clearing the boundary ropes three times to propel the Royals past the psychological 200-run milestone.
