Not too many hours remain before the start of the most important and sublime event in all of the women’s cricket that we have amid us this year. It’s an event which might be taking place in the United Kingdom, but will be one that will be watched globally and from all directions of corners. It’s an event that will give some game changing headlines, hopefully all of which will assure a new tide of development and rise of the women’s game as we know it. The moment that we have all waited with such manic excitement is finally about to start on June 12 in England.

The ICC women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is about to go underway. While it begins on June 12 officially in the English city of Birmingham, it’ll see the hosts England taking on Sri Lanka. What else do we need to know about such a massive mega event in the world of international women’s cricket?

No fewer than 12 teams will be competing in the said competition. And that’s not all- it’s matches are slated to be held across not just England but Wales, and have a lot on offer. They promise a global showcase of women's cricket talent, which anyways is takin centre-stage as we speak.

Stats of the game, such as Mitali Raj, former captain of the Indian Women’s cricket team and former captain of the England men’s cricket team in the form of Nasser Hussain have recognised and praised the depths of talent with which the various teams are competing in what can rightly be called the Magnum Opus of women’s cricket.

And just hours ago, most recently the ICC released complete list of presenters in Commentator, who will be talking to fans and engaging with the audiences, bringing them the live ball by ball scenarios and updates from the games that are about to undergo in England.
