Aiden Markram scored his fourth ODI century as South Africa were set a target of 358 by India. This is also his first ton as an opener for South Africa. Each of his previous three centuries came at No.4. He scored his century of 88 balls and it was not an extravagant celebration. Markram removed his helmet and soaked in the applause from the crowd in Raipur.

Aiden Markram was eventually dismissed for 110 runs of 98 balls. Harshit Rana took his wicket as he was out caught in the deep. His innings included ten fours and four sixes. He looked in great touch and kept South Africa in the chase as long as he was there. This was a crucial knock from him as coming into this game his record against India was not good.
