India and Afghanistan may not necessarily have become two close rivals in the game, but there’s always fun and great excitement on our hands whenever the two teams get together, irrespective of where they play cricket. Why it is the captivating batting of legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, including Suman Gill and KL Rahul on the one hand, it is always amazing to see them being challenged by the lives of Rashid Khan, Nabi and the likes on the other hand.
It was earlier in June of this year, when we saw Afghanistan visiting India for a brilliant one-day International series in which, even though India blanked out the visitors by a big margin of 3- nil, Afghanistan played as well as they would have liked with their batting showing glimpses of class, and indicating the powerhouse that it can become in the times to come.
And just a couple of weeks earlier it once again made news when it was declared that Afghanistan are going to host India in India for a three match T20 series, which is gonna take place in September.
It will once again put two drastically different teams, both in terms of talent, age, and experience coming together to lock horns in a battle where the format is the big winner itself- this being T20s.
But just a few weeks before the start of the series in September, it has come to notice that an important component in terms of technology which is used in football is going to be implemented this time in the game of Cricket.
So the big question is, what is this football technology that Cricket is going to borrow from and demonstrate for the first time ever in the T20 series.
“We want to move away from the same old production technology that has been used in cricket for the last 10-12 years. The series will give new experiences to the viewers and brands” - Bhairav Shanth from Cricbuzz.
Apparently, the said technology was used earlier in the FIFA World Cup 2026 event!
