India on Saturday announced the Indian women’s ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour to Australia. Harmapreet will lead both the sides and they have named a full strength squad barring injuries. There are also a few surprises and comebacks in the T20 squads based on the excellent performance in WPL. Two of the players who have benefitted from the performances in WPL this season are off-spinner Shreyanka Patil and batter Bharti Fulmali. Both these players returned to the T20I squad while wicketkeeper G. Kamalini has been picked as the backup wicket-keeper and left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma has earned a maiden ODI call up.

Pacer Kashvee Gautam was also added to ODI squad while Arundhati Reddy and spinner Radha Yadav were dropped. Harleen Deol is part of the ODI set up and has been dropped from the 16-member T20I squad. Both the squads will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana will be her vice-captain.

In this tour, India Women will play three T20Is and as many ODIs on the white ball tour between February 15 and March 1, with the one-off Test scheduled to run from March 6 to 9 in Perth. The Test squad will be announced later.
