Sanju Samson continued his dominant form and along with Ishan Kishan took the England bowlers to the cleaners. Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 39 of just 18 balls before eventually getting dismissed by Adil Rashid. Samson went past his half-century and it was a terrific knock by the right-hand batter. Shivam Dube smashed 43 while Hardik and Tilak played very good cameos as India finished with 253/7 at the end of the first innings. It was a masterclass from the batters and surely an above par total on that surface.

In the chase, England lost Phil Salt early as Hardik Pandya picked up an early wicket. Jasprit Bumrah was introduced into the attack and immediately picked up the wicket of Harry Brook. England were in all sorts of trouble but Bethell came in and smashed three sixes in a row to Varun Chakravarthy but in the same over England lost the wicket of Jos Buttler.

Jacob Bethell completed his half century in just 19 balls and it was a quality knock from the batter. England lost the fourth wicket at 95 but the scoring rate was excellent as they reached 120 in the first 10 overs. But England had lost four wickets and that was the concern. Indian bowlers held their nerve and Jasprit Bumrah really well as India reduced the England team to 246/7 and won the match by x runs. Sanju Samson was the player of the match for his terrific performance. India will now meet New Zealand in the Final of the 2026 WT20 at Ahmedabad which will be played on 8th March.
