Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill has been sidelined for the clash against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026. The Titans, who kicked off their season by locking horns with the Punjab Kings, welcomed the inaugural season winners, in their second clash at home, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Titans suffered a three-wicket loss and were aiming to avenge the early setback. However, the 2022 IPL winners received a setback as their skipper Gill was sidelined for the home encounter.
The young skipper who hit a 27-ball-39 in the first clash, will be in the dug out due to muscle spasm. Rashid Khan has been given scoring responsibility in his absence, while Gill was seen with a strap on his neck. The stand-in captain revealed about the change in the squad during the toss, and said, “Gill has a muscle spasm, hopefully he will be back soon.” He added that Kumar Kushagra is set to make his debut.
“KK (Kumar Kushagra) is playing his first game and look forward to see him play. We played good cricket in the last game as well. Was a good game. We need to bring out 100% here,” Khan told during toss.
