Mumbai Indians beat Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets in a high scoring thriller at the Wankhede Stadium. Lucknow Super Giants were batting first and batted brilliantly to post a total of 228/5 at the end of the first innings. Chasing the target, Mumbai Indians cruised through the chase courtesy half centuries from both their openers. They managed to win the match by six wickets and pick up an important win.
Naman Dhir: "Very good, especially after losing back-to-back games, chasing 230-odd at Wankhede at home feels very special and very good. (talk in the dressing room during tough times) I think the talks are always positive in the dressing room. Yeah the things haven't gone our way, we haven't clicked together. I guess this is the best example that our bowling has clicked. We come back, we restricted them at a very good total, a par total at Wankhede, and our batting, we have seen Rohit bhai, Rickelton had a great start. So I think we haven't clicked, we haven't clicked together as a team, but today it happens. (on Rohit at the top) I guess he is a great player, we have all seen that throughout the years. He is very important for us. We had a little setback because of his hamstring, but he is very, very important for us. (on his batting) I think I'm keeping my game plan simple, just trying to present full face of the bat every time I go inside. And I think that's what helping me and that's what getting me to few quick starts.”

(a few runs short?) "Definitely, the way we started, I think we should have gotten more runs. But definitely some good signs. Can't say that. Definitely the boys played freely, but in the end, I think they bowled well because they are used to these conditions, for sure. See, definitely, we were short 10-15 runs because it was a 220-230 wicket for sure. And the way we started, we had that edge over them. But at the same time, in a wicket like this, you can't blame bowlers all the time. They've been doing a fantastic job for us. So definitely can't say much to them, for sure. (what does the team need?) I think we need some good luck, man. That's the only thing I'm going to say. (how to find the luck?) Yeah, I think a lot of blessing is going to work around it. And it's going to take some more effort from us, for sure.”

It was nothing new. We knew we could control the game with a couple of wickets. They were 120-odd for one. Everyone had their beliefs and had their plans. The way they bowled was commendable. Even we scored 244 few days back and SRH chased it down. So we knew it was chaseable. It was unbelievable batting. It's important to have a good start. They were always in control. At the way, Naman and everyone batted was nice.
