In the 8th Match of the season between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Capitals had won the toss and elected to field first. Mukesh Kumar, the Indian pacer, has cracked the code for the Capitals as he dismissed both Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma in the first over. The Mumbai Indians seem to be in trouble as they have lost two of their key batters, and they have been pushed onto the back foot quite early in the game.
Rickelton living off one lucky knock and Tilak Varma getting a golden duck to a slower ball? Fraud watch is officially OPEN. Stop calling them the best top order in the league when they can’t even handle a basic Bengal pacer. 🤡☕️#DCvMI #IPL2026 #MukeshKumar #MumbaiIndians pic.twitter.com/sxJJLsGz7O

Mukesh Kumar was given the ball to bowl the 3rd over of the innings, and the Mumbai Indians had scored 18 off the first 2 overs. Just when things started to click for the visitors, Mukesh Kumar banged in a short ball which outsmarted the South African batter, er and the ball took the top edge of Rickelton’s bat and flew towards Axar Patel, who takes a safe catch. Then walked in Tilak Varma to bat at number 3, and he was expected to hold the innings and maximise the powerplay for the side. But Mukesh Kumar had other plans as he deceived the batter with a knuckle ball, and Tilak Varma, who tried to flick the ball to the leg-side, ended up mistiming the ball for a simple catch back to the bowler, himself. Mukesh Kumar has struck at a crucial phase in the innings, and the Mumbai Indians will be looking to regain momentum from the coming overs in the game.
The Delhi Capitals will be happy with that Mukesh Kumar bounced back after conceding two boundaries in his opening spell. Axar Patel, the Delhi Capitals skipper, will be looking to make the best of the start they have got and to limit the Mumbai Indians to a respectable total on board.
