The Sunrisers Hyderabad put up a total of 216 on board after the 20 overs, credit to a late flourish by Aniket Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Ishan Kishan had dominated proceedings in the first innings of the clash against the Rajasthan Royals with a sensational 91 off just 44 balls. They didn’t get off to the best of starts with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma not being able to score as much.

The X viewers reacted positively to the batting of Sunrisers Hyderabad as their skipper led the charge but missed out on a well deserved century. Their batting has been their biggest positive in the season and the fans will be delighted that they got to see some fireworks at home. The result will be dependent on how the bowlers can execute the plans and see the end of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Middle-order resurgence and late cameos lift SRH after shaky start, bowlers face stern RR challenge

The Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag had won the toss and elected to field first. The Sunrisers Hyderabad were coming off a defeat against the Punjab Kings in the last match. They batted well against the Punjab Kings as they put up a total of 219 and Abhishek Sharma scored a half-century. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma haven't clicked on as a duo and they would have been desperate to get a good start.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma walked out to bat first and Jofra Archer dismissed Abhishek off the very first ball of the over. Travis Head couldn’t get a move on as well as he scored 18 from 18 deliveries. With the duo failing to provide a much needed start for the SRH, the captain and Heinrich Klaasen had to carry the innings forward and generate some momentum to work with.

Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan stitched a strong partnership of 88 runs which brought the home side back in the game. Ishan Kishan scored a stunning 91 off just 44 balls, including 8 fours and 6 sixes, striking at 206. Then after the dismissal of the skipper, Heinrich Klaasen was dismissed two overs later. Klaasen scored 40 off 26 balls, including a four and 3 sixes, striking at 153. The duo had set the tone for the Sunrisers Hyderabad to get a solid finish at the end.

Towards the end of the innings, there were some brilliant cameos on display with the likes of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora performing well. Nitish Kumar Reddy had scored a fine knock of 28 off just 13 balls, including just 4 sixes, striking at 215. He was accompanied by Salil Arora at the other end, scoring 24 off just 13 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes, striking at 184. The Sunrisers Hyderabad finished with a massive total of 216 on board.

Now, the responsibility will rest with the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling unit as they have been below par this season. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be confident that they have got a good enough total on board and that their bowlers can defend the total against the mighty Royals.
