Rilee Rossouw stirs controversy by calling the IPL “too long” and more entertainment-driven, favouring PSL’s compact and competitive format, as his comments divide fans across social media.

In a video surfacing on X (formerly, Twitter) Rilee Rossouw, was seen giving some shocking statements regarding PSL’s comparison with IPL. In the video, Rossouw stated that IPL is a very long tournament, whereas PSL is a much more compact event where the competition is much more fierce. He also said that the IPL has all the bollywood behind it so it feels more like a movie than actual cricket.

Rossouw has played for both IPL franchises (like RCB and Delhi Capitals) and PSL teams (Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans).

Rossouw’s statements have received criticism from Indian fans on the internet who are calling him ‘salty’ as no franchise chose him in the auction this year, fans were also seen mocking him for criticising a tournament where all of the big names of cricket want to be a part of. The other section of the internet is defending him as well by saying that the inclusion of retired foreign players brings competition in the tournament.

"IPL is a very long tournament, and PSL is a much more compact tournament where the competition is a lot more fierce. IPL obviously has the whole Bollywood behind it, so it's a lot more of a movie than actual cricket".
