Ishan Kishan made his much awaited return to the Indian team after two years. But it was not a memorable return for him as Ishan Kishan flopped on his comeback. With the injury to Tilak Varma, the Number 3 spot opened up and Ishan Kishan got a chance. The wicket-keeper batter was dismissed for 8 runs of 5 balls before he hit the ball straight to covers and got out. Fans on twitter reached to the his comeback.

Ishan Kishan led his team superbly and performed against every bowling attack in his way, smashing 517 runs at a strike rate of 197.32. Then came the final against Haryana whers he hammered a 45-ball century, the second ever in an SMAT final, and broke MS Dhoni’s record for most sixes by a wicketkeeper-captain in a T20 tournament. This was his second century in SMAT.
Ishan Kishan was recalled in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 after being out of action for the national team for two years. He was added into India’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 and for the preceding T20I series against New Zealand replacing Jitesh Sharma and he did not have a good time in the first T20I against New Zealand.
