India’s wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan stood tall amidst the batting collapse as the Men in Blue locked horns with England in 5th T20I. The five-game series reached its final leg on Saturday, July 11 at Southampton where the Harry Brook-led side once again left their rivals clueless with their batting prowess. However, the young batter, who is also the number 1 T20I batter came to the side’s rescue and hit his 11th fifty in the format to help the side narrow the gap between them and the mammoth 258-run target.

The game saw Shreyas Iyer win the toss and let the hosts bat first. While the three-time T20I champions were able to get better of Philip Salt at just 6, what unfolded ahead turned out to be India’s biggest nightmare. Jos Buttler and skipper Harry Brook built a historic 233-run stand to help the Three Lions post 257 with the loss of three wickets. The visitors, who looked forward to wrapping up the series with at least one win, aimed to claw back in the game. However, their dreams were brutally shattered by English bowlers.

However, Kishan remained firm on the crease when batters on the other end kept changing and came up with his 11th T20I. While his knock proved to be clinical, the Jharkhand batter failed to make it big and was dismissed off 56.
