Pakistani cricketer Aiman Anwer retires from International Cricket
On Wednesday, 26 August 2026, Pakistan's fast bowler Aiman Anwer announced her retirement from women's international cricket. Aiman played for the Pakistan women’s cricket team for several years. She played eight ODI matches and 37 T20I matches for Pakistan between July 2016 and February 2023.
Her cricket journey started much earlier. She first played for Karachi U19 in the PCB National U19 Women’s Championship in January 2010. After performing at the domestic level, she got the chance to represent Pakistan internationally.
Aiman made her T20I debut against England in Southampton in 2016. She later made her ODI debut against Bangladesh in Colombo in 2017. During her international career, she played 45 matches for Pakistan and took four ODI wickets and 29 T20I wickets.
She also represented Pakistan at several major ICC tournaments. Aiman was part of the Pakistan squad for the Women’s T20 World Cups in 2018, 2020 and 2022-23. She also played in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in New Zealand.
After her playing career, Aiman also started working as a broadcaster. She has now taken another step in her cricket journey by becoming a match referee. On Monday, she made her debut as a referee in the ongoing National Women’s U19 Tournament. She had completed the required induction course in January this year.
