India continued their dominance against Pakistan in WT20 as they beat Pakistan by 61 runs in the 27th match of the 2026 WT20. It was a dominant performance by Men in Blue. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first and India were dealt a big blow early as Abhishek Sharma dismissed for a duck in the first over of the innings. Ishan Kishan continued his sublime form as he took on Shaheen Shah Afridi in the second over where he scored 15 runs. Kishan was joined by Tilak who started with a couple of boundaries but the majority of strike was taken by Ishan Kishan and he took the bowlers to the cleaners and scored a terrific half century.
Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 7 runs of just 40 balls and did enough damage. When Ishan Kishan was dismissed the score was 88/2 and from there India could only score 52 runs in the next 50 balls. Tilak Varma struggled to get going as he was dismissed for 25 runs of 24 balls and Hardik fell for a duck as Pakistan made a comeback. Saim Ayub struck twice in the over and suddenly it felt as if Pakistan were coming back. Suryakumar Yadav fell for 32 of 29 balls but Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh provided a very good finish as Dube scored 27 runs of just 17 balls.
India posted a total of 175 on the back of largely a terrific half century from Ishan Kishan. They struggled a bit but the death overs were productive for India as they finished with just above par total on that surface. In reply, Pakistan lost their opener Farhan for a duck in the first over and then Jasprit Bumrah came in the second over and picked up two wickets to completely derail Pakistan in the chase. Usman Khan got a few boundaries but they lost Babar Azam for five as Pakistan were reduced to 34/4 at the end of the fifth over.
It was always going to be a huge challenge from there and Usman Khan scored 44 runs before getting dismissed. Pakistan collapsed from 73/5 to 78/7 as the Indian spinners did a terrific job. Pakistan were bowled out for 114 as India won the match. Ishan Kishan was the player of the match for his terrific knock.
