Italy have announced squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026. Wayne Madsen is named as the captain for the side. One of the biggest surprise is the selection of all-rounder JJ Smuts, who has previously featured for South Africa at the international level, and has played 13 T20Is for South Africa. Emilio Gay misses the selection due to injury.

Italy made it to the tournament on the back of a historic run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2025, where they claimed the second position following wins against Scotland and Guernsey, and qualified alongside the Netherlands.

They have named a strong squad and have all the bases covered and will be keen to do well in the upcoming tournament. Ben Manenti and Harry Manenti who play in Australian domestic also make it to the squad. Italy will miss Joe Burns in the tournament after he was sacked despite leading them in Qualifiers.
