Virat Kohli was recently spotted with Jordan Cox ahead of the matter's test debut against New Zealand. Some people invaded the cricket legend’s privacy as they both were clicked without consent. The private meetup which was meant to be a time of privacy for both the cricketers quickly turned into a public spectacle without the permission of the players. Speaking to The Guardian, Jordan Cox expressed his criticism against these practices, “The upsetting thing for him is that people are following him without him knowing”. Cox revealed to the portal that the meet-up was held before his test debut at The Oval.
According to him, hundreds of people passed through them as they were catching up without disturbing them.
However, Kohli later discovered that someone had clicked their picture without informing them and uploaded it on social media. Cox said that the incident reminded of the global attention the former test player constantly receives even after his attempts to live a normal life. Kohli along with his wife, Anushka Sharma and their kids had even moved to England to live a life away from the limelight except for media, game commitments and IPL.
The England player also applauded Kohli's willingness to mentor young and aspiring cricketers amidst RCB’s IPL 2026 winning campaign. “The thing that I found most special during the IPL is how much time he gave me. For someone who has achieved so much, he always wants to help others before himself. That is very rare,” Cox said.
Virat Kohli is set to make his much-awaited return to international cricket in India's upcoming three-match ODI series against England after recovering from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the Afghanistan series. The former India captain suffered the injury during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL 2026 final victory, forcing him to miss India's most recent ODI assignment. Following successful rehabilitation and a positive fitness assessment, Kohli has been named in Shubman Gill's squad for the England tour, subject to final medical clearance.
The England series marks Kohli's first international appearance in over a month and is expected to play a crucial role in India's preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup. With Kohli having already retired from both T20 Internationals and Test cricket, the 50-over format remains his sole international commitment, making every ODI appearance increasingly significant.
India will face England in three ODIs at Edgbaston, Sophia Gardens and Lord's, with Kohli likely to slot back into his familiar No. 3 position alongside Rohit Sharma and captain Shubman Gill. His return also strengthens India's experienced core after the team completed a 3-0 clean sweep over Afghanistan without him.
