
Jos Buttler, the English Wicket Keeper has recently revealed that MS Dhoni is his favourite Indian Cricketer. Buttler has earlier too revealed how big he is an admirer of Dhoni and how his big hitting ability and finishing prowess has always inspired him in life.
Buttler earlier revealed that he is a big admirer of Dhoni’s helicopter shot. He recalled that it was the 2011 ICC World Cup final innings against Sri Lanka that made him a big fan of Mahi.Dhoni had played a match winning blistering innings of 91 off 79 balls against Sri Lanka in final of ICC World Cup to claim India’s second ODI World Cup Trophy after years of Drought.

“I like his demeanour on the field. How cool and calm he is. I like his explosive batting, the helicopter shot. I always watched the IPL on TV. I remember some of the great innings he has played. MS Dhoni is yet to play his IPL 2026 match as he sufferred a calf injury just before IPL 2026 started which was a major setback for the CSK management and Yellow fan army. Although he is seen back to join the team and practice session recently, when CSK Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was asked about his certainty in MI vs CSK match he said may be Dhoni will come in next game and he also explained update on Mahi’s injury.
We were playing a practice match; that's when he snapped his calf, and then he wasn't able to run as comfortably as he wanted to. And I think after that it was just about him seeing some of the youngsters playing in practice games or in match simulations where he felt confident enough about them, who are ready and who have that ability to play in the IPL," Gaikwad told at a CSK event."And, after that, it was just about taking time on his recovery, and slowly, slowly he's getting there. Never know, maybe next game, maybe after that, but definitely one day for sure."
When asked about what will be MSD’s batting position once he returns, he revealed that ofcourse there will be current changes in squad and he will play depending on match situation. Ruturaj said that Dhoni has made himself clear in last 2-3 years that he will give chances youngsters to play higher up the order and he will only play as afinisher with 2-3 overs remaining.
