India are all set to face off against England in the semi-final 2 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The winner of this game will take on New Zealand who have defeated South Africa in the first semi-final. Ahead of the match, former England great Kevin Pietersen has made a bold prediction.

Pietersen’s cheeky tweet has become the talk of the town among fans and experts. The former cricketer wrote, “So NZ versus England in the final of the T20 WC on Sunday. Should be a great game,” through a tweet on his X (formerly twitter) handle on March 4, immediately after New Zealand’s win over South Africa.

His tweet has revived a lot of engagement of X with more than 20,000 likes, 1000 plus retweets and over 2500 comments in less than 24 hours.

Fans have reacted to Kevin Pietersen’s humorous tweet with a lot of funny replies. Several users on X have told Pietersen to stop joking and day dreaming.

One fan also said that England can win the game if they win the toss and elect to bowl first.

Some fans have also predicted that India will go through and face New Zealand in the final with the latter finally winning a trophy without making any mistakes.

One fan went out of the way and said that England would have won if Kevin Pietersen and Craig Kieswetter would have played for them like the 2010 T20 World Cup.
