Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane smashed a massive six in the practice game against Navdeep Saini. The Indian Premier League starts later this week and Ajinkya Rahane who is set to lead the KKR side for the season has looked in great touch in the practice games. As the season approaches, Kolkata Knight Riders have started their practice and are playing a few intra-squad games. It was during this game that Ajinkya Rahane launched one into the stands of Navdeep Saini. Watch the video here.
Speaking about his captaincy Rahane said “I have been leading the team since last year and really grateful to the franchise for giving me this responsibility to lead the team. Taking everything in my stride, positively taking everything,"
Ajinkya Rahane and KKR management made a blunder last year by not changing his position from No.3 to opening but this time he gonna smash 500 run for KKR as opener 🚀🔥 You can save this tweet!! pic.twitter.com/hBFdZ7DkHv

He also said that he is ready for challenges as KKR are looking to win their third IPL title. “My mindset has always been like that throughout my career, that if I see any challenges or particular, if something difficult is, I look at it positively and try to give my best as a player and also as a captain," Rahane said.
Kolkata Knight Riders had a disappointing season last year where they could not qualify for the playoffs. They have made plenty of changes ahead of the season and will be keen to have a better season. New Zealand trio of Seifert, Allen and Ravindra are in the squad while Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was picked up for the highest purse during the auction by KKR. They will be led by Ajinkya Rahane who will be keen to get some good results.
There were some doubts on whether Ajinkya Rahane will have the captaincy this season but he has been shown faith by the management. Kolkata Knight Riders will start their 2026 IPL campaign on March 29 where they will face off against Mumbai Indians. The schedule for the initial matches has been released while the entire fixtures list is set to be released in the coming weeks.
