Bad luck continues for the Kolkata Knight Riders! The three-time IPL champions who haven’t been able to record any win in the IPL 2026, suffered another setback in the form of a five-wicket loss to the Gujarat Titans. Both sides came against each other on Friday, April 17 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Knight Riders are going through a performance slump, and are seeded at the bottom of the standings with just 1 points, and it seems that they would have to stay there for a few more games.

KKR skipper, Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and let his team put the score on the board first. However, the Gold and Purple army didn’t get off to a favorable start and lost their first three wickets in the powerplay. Though Cameron Green tried to give the side much needed stability, his unbeaten 75 couldn’t do much. Apart from the Aussie star, no other KKR player could make a valuable contribution to the scoreboard, and the team managed to put up a modest total of 180.

However, in return, the hosts also lost their opener Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler early, but skipper Shubman Gill stood firm on the one end. He put a crucial knock of 86 runs off 50 balls with a combination of eight boundaries and four maximums to guide the side to their third consecutive win.
