Kolkata Knight Riders came into the auction with the highest purse among all the teams. They had the luxury of money and also plenty of spots to fill in the squad. Noor surprised as they did that and three out of the top six most expensive players are brought by Kolkata Knight Riders. They shelled out a whopping Rs. 25.20 crore for Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and also secured the services of death-overs specialist Matheesha Pathirana for Rs. 18 crore.
Kolkata Knight Riders was in dire need of a wicketkeeper-batter after releasing Quinton de Kock and Gurbaz. They brought the Kiwi duo of Finn Allen and Tim Seifert, as well as Tejasvi Singh, to make up for it. Rahul Tripathi was brought for Base Price while Sarthak Ranjan, Akash Deep and Kartik Tyagi were some other Indian players who went at base price.
